SDP Youth Group Canvas Support for Senator Rafiu in Kwara South 

A group of very energetic youth named Kwara South Grassroot Mobilizers who were previously members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Tuesday, 31st of January, 2023 met with Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim at his campaign office in Omupo, Kwara State. 

The group, Kwara South Grassroot Mobilizers is a political advocacy group with members across the 7 local government areas of Kwara South. The group which endorsed the candidacy of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim on January 17th, 2023 and have since began their grassroot support and awareness for the PDP senatorial candidate before meeting him on Tuesday. 

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the coordinator of the group, Comrade Ambali Sikiru appreciated Senator Rafiu for his commitment to the development of youths in Kwara South while mentioning that 50% of those in attendance have been beneficiaries of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim's empowerment schemes in the past and also including the ongoing Karakata scheme. 

According to Comrade Ambali, the decision of the group to collapse their former structure under Social Democratic Party, SDP, was as a result of their assessment of all the candidates which led them to discover that Senator Rafiu Ibrahim has the required knowledge, character, competence, experience and track record ahead of all other candidates hence making him worthy of their support. 

In his remarks, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim appreciated the youths for their support while charging them to spread the goodwill messages on the need to restore hope to Kwara South with his candidacy. He also promised to invest more in ensuring that the youths from the senatorial district are gainfully employed and self-sufficient.
