The Rise and Fall of His Excellency!

The senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki thought he had successfully damaged the reputation of President Muhammadu Buhari and has become very popular among the populace to challenge the president in the 2019 election.

He saw himself as the hero of PDP and in turn of Nigerians seeing the results of his media propaganda whipping up the sentiments of the uninformed who were hailing him on social medias.

He lived in his dream, became proud and was certain of his victory at the PDP primary election.

He felt like a president already, going to different states wooing delegates to support his ambition. He was too confident of himself that he would emerge the presidential candidate of the PDP, thinking himself the man of the moment.

But man, proud man, drest in a little brief authority, most ignorant of what he is most assured, his glassy essence like an angry ape plays such fantastic tricks before high heavens as to make the angels weep.

His devastating defeat at the PDP convention, a disappointing and disgracing 317 votes startled him back to reality as his political future now looks very gloomy. Resuming at the Natinal Assembly today, he held a closed door meeting with the senators of both parties to sheath their swords and put national interest above individual interest. Come 2019, either PDP or APC wins, saraki can not be president, vice president and can not even return as senate president, afterall, nobody trust a snake.

A politician that cannot give his word and stand by it. Now sober and humbled, Saraki thought National Interest shd come above individual interest (yet he can not be trusted as a cunning politician) but at least, he has lost his goodwill. What a way to rise and fall.

WHY ILORIN EMIRATES SHOULD SUPPORT ALDULRAZAQ ABDULRAHAMAN OF APC

*POLITICAL VERDICT*

*ABDULRASAQ ABDULRAHAMAN IS THE FINAL OF CHOICE WITH REASONS*

According to a reliable source, from the inception, all the Aspirants were call to more 20 different cacaus meetings both home and Abuja for them to come together as brothers from the same house, but yielded no fruit till the day of primary elections in which Abdulrasaq Abdulrahaman won.

Recall, similar thing happened 2015 in which the same set disappointed the Ilorin Anchors, at last they made no Head ways in moving Ilorin forward in any case.

*Many reasons why Ilorin Emirate APC have to support Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq;*

1. Qulihuma.. Maalikulmalki... Quran verse. It is Allah saying and who ever that did not believe Him, is kufru. Let us accept Allah's wish.

2. Geneally, the ABDULRASAQ family has sacrifice their life for Ilorin in the past till date, if we dont know any one, am sure we are aware of that Employment Bulldozzer (Isiaq Abdulrasaq), HE turned so many lives to meaning one without any aspiration.

3. Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman is a man that is blessed with clean record both and abroad, we would not to contribute for him in any currency.

4. Abulrasaq Abdulrahman is a man that the Emirate would appreciate by the time he Import real dividend of democracy needed at our time.

5. Finally, let's us also appreciate AGF Rasaq in his life time. He fought for Ilorin to be the Ilorin of today. The first and recognized Lawyer in Northern Nigeria.

Ilorin Anchors plead to all members to give peace a chance for us to move forward educationally, infrastructuraly and otherwise. We hereby congratulate Abdulrasaq Abdulrahaman the Legend.

 *Long live Ilorin Emirate*

KWARA NEW DAWN - AA THE NEW SHERIFF IN KWARA

2019 ELECTION; IT IS GOING TO  BE A NEW DAWN POLITICALLY IN KWARA STATE

There is a common consolation statement among Ilorin people when affirming a brighter future, they will say "Ojo Jimoh tio ba dara ati ojo Alamisi ni ao ti mo ( a Friday that  will be good in a week, the good omen of it will be noticeable and it will be manifesting from  Thursday before that particular Friday). Traditionally, we Ilorinans used to see ourselves as brothers and sisters and we relate as one and we don't treat ourselves like slaves until the coming of those who changed the system and values which the gullible ones who believed that without somebody they can't be anything when Allah is the maker and distributor of all things and give it whom he pleases and door of his benevolent is never closed. But the recent Osun experience where Osun oracle failed then and Port Harcourt ported them with 317 LRN back home will definitely make those who had not been seen beyond their noses knows that " aiye pe meji" that is the world has two sides.

Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq just emerged as gubernatorial candidate of APC in Kwara State and with his emergence the political equation in Kwara State is likely to change because of his antecedents and background as an astute businessman of no negative blemish and son of Alhaji AGF AbdulRazaq,SAN,Mutawallin Ilorin also a prominent politician in the first and second Republic in Nigeria. It will interest readers to know that the first individual efforts at human capital development in Kwara State was initiated by him when he established Ilorin College Ilorin now known as Government High School in 1967. The creation of Kwara State was championed by Alhaji AbdulRazaq in conjunction with other prominent Kwarans then like the Late Alhaji Yusuf Amuda Gobir,Late Alhaji AbdulAzeez Attah the duo then been Permanent Secretaries in Federal Service and host of others.

Kwara State was in steady growth from May 1967 when it was created with the Late Brigadier-General David Lasisi Bamigboye (then Lt. Col) as Military Governor of Kwara State who laid good foundation for future development of the Stare which was later boosted by the Late Gen George Innih of blessed memory most of their efforts then were legacy projects that we are seeing till now. Our State was developing gradually from one regime to the other until the coming of the locusts in 2003 till date who ravaged and still ravaging our dear State in an avid manner.

But with the recent development we are looking towards a brighter future when the nomenclature would have changed our State to a more prosperous one soon and locusts that had been ravaging would had been sent away from our dear State. Am welcoming you to Kwara State where no political leaders will treat followers like slaves.

DON'T CRY MORE THAN THE BEREAVED, IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON, KWARA APC!

*AN ADDRESS TO ALL SUPPORTERS OF OUR GREAT PARTY "APC" AND ALL OTHER PROGRESSIVE NON-PARTISANS.*

Wednesday, 10th of October 2018.

*TITLE: DON'T CRY MORE THAN THE BEREAVED!*

Fellow compatriots and progressives in the struggle, it is no longer news that *"Kwara APC"* have chosen it's flagbearers for various positions ranging from State House of Assembly to the Gubernatorial seat. The primary elections which was conducted last weekend was a milestone in the state, the election had the highest number of aspirants ever witnessed in the political history of the State, and the mode of conducting the elections using the *"direct mode"* of primary elections was also unprecedented in the State, hence, there are bound to be mistakes and shortcomings either unintentionally or otherwise.

There is no iota of doubt that the election conducted had it's own irregularities, there were cases more than one (1) that was raised by virtually all aspirants, some were based on propaganda but most were true and genuine, it's needless highlighting some of those issues. There is something I actually believe in, I believe there is nothing that has it's advantages that doesn't have it's own disadvantages, and no system is spotless or perfect, also, the solving of a problem automatically leads to creating another problem, hence, the need for us to look beyond cancellations of the primaries, unnecessary petitions, court cases, protests or the likes.

As progressives, we have the firm believe that elections should not just be a free and fair contest but it should also go through a credible process, elections should also not be a do-or-die affair as there must be a winner and there must be the vanquished, we don't see anyone as losers. As believers also, we believe that only God gives power, and he gives it to whoever he wishes at an appointed time, with no one big enough to challenge his divine authority. Hence, we believe that whoever scaled through as the winner has a divine purpose, the more reason why we all should come together and give our maximum support to him.

It is of note that the *"PDP"* saw the huge number of contestants on the platform of our great party as an advantage to them, they had the believe that things would fall apart for the party immediately after it's primaries, but to their dissapointment, almost all the aspirants who couldn't cross the hurdle have made concessional speeches and have pledged to support the candidate of the party, this is to the dismay of the *"PDP"*.

I hereby have a message for all supporters of our great party and progressive non-partisans, and the message is *"Don't Cry More Than the Bereaved"*, let's come together and support the party's candidate, let's make him a star that shines collectively, let's deploy all means to make sure he wins, because the chance we have come February 2019 is a generational advantage that may likely not present itself again, we have a chance to make a generational shift that we would forever remain proud of, let's join hands together and support *"Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (AA)"* as the next *Governor of the State of Harmony.*

Lastly, let's propagate the gospel about the re-election bid of *"President Muhammadu Buhari"*, as he is needed beyond 2019 for total national recovery and restoration of the lost but gradually resuscitating glory of our dear Nation, and also for the continued nightmare of the looters that milked my Nation dry of it's Commonwealth!

*Sai Kwara; Sai Abdulrahman!*
*Sai Nigeria; Sai Buhari!!*
*Sai APC; Change!!!*

God bless AA!
God bless PMB!!
God bless APC!!!
God bless Kwara State!!!!
God bless Nigerians!!!!!

KWARA APC PRIMARIES FALLOUT, HOW MM WAS SCHEMED OUT.

KWARA APC PRIMARIES FALLOUT

It is a testy time for the APC leadership in Kwara State. The handling of the election of the party's candidates for the 2019 elections has been controversial.

* The guber primary has produced Alh. Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq. I know AA from our old PDP days and we had a good conversation early July this year  in Atlanta( USA) on the necessity for reallignment of political forces in our state.  We have met and discussed again in Abuja and Ilorin.  But AA  is not the focus of this report.

* I'm concerned here about the brazen disenfrachment of the teeming supporters of one of the leading aspirants,  Hon. Mashood Mustapha ( MM) .

* MM was, arguably,  the aspirant to beat. But midway  to the election, he was "disqualified,"  - first, via a radio announcement that no one has yet claimed responsibility for and later, through a belated press statement by APC Ag National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yekini Nabena. It was a mortal blow.

* TeamMM actually had a foreboding. As I walked into MM's living room in Ilorin nine days ago, he noticed that I looked worried. I told him I just received a confidential information ( I'm still a journalist) about the outcome of  primaries that had not been held. All that I told him that day (except one that was fiercely resisted) has come to pass. We considered all possibilities that could harm his chances of winning the guber primary but disqualification  was not one of them.

* TeamMM was confident that our massive ground work would see us successfully through the finishing line. The gruelling Local Government tour, day and night, the messaging and the enthusiasm we witnessed on the field were reassuring. On the eve of the primary, MM received a massive boost in the form of an endorsement by the Kwara North caucus of APC headed by Sen. Ahmed Mohammed. We were good to go. We deployed resources for the primary exercise to all local governments that night.

* On primary day, early reports indicated we would do well. We won my ward convincingly, Arandun ward ( in my Irepodun LGA) followed with another big win. Reports from other centres in Oyun and Offa were encouraging. Then, midday, I got a phone call that there had been a radio announcement on the disqualification of MM. Impossible.! How do u disqualify a player as being ineligible to play  only after he had started scoring goals?

* But the announcement, made repeatedly  on the federal government-controlled Harmony FM, Idofia, did the (expected) irreparable damage. Supporters of MM dispatched from their long queues. His opponents had a field day to do whatever they liked.

* The disqualification was not only provocative , it was patently unjust and unkind. MM  was screened two weeks to election. He wasnt  disqualified before the election, he wasn't informed why he was disqualified on election day and he wasnt availed the statutory right to appeal any disqualification.

* When MM was told about the disqualification via radio announcement, he contacted the chairman of the electoral committee, HE Chief Iyiola Oladokun ( former Deputy Governor of Oyo State) who denied knowledge of the travesty. Chief Oladokun had, infact, met ALL the  aspirants on thursday night and the issue of disqualification was not mentioned.  MM contacted Mr Nabena who said that the NWC did not disqualify him. But by 2.45pm, on election day, the committee chairman was formally informed about the disqualification. Shortly after,  Nabena too issued an official statement on the aspirants cleared for the guber primary. MM was not there.

* Last Thursday, MM hosted all the aspirants in his GRA residence, Ilorin. The spirit of comradeship exhibited was great. They agreed to submit themselves to a transparent primary election . None of  them knew that any of them would be ambushed on election day.

* It is no secret that the APC leadership in Kwara has no love lost for MM because of his strong personality and his  past working relationship with the Senate President( the silly talk in Kwara APC is about moles, everyone with past association with the Sarakis is a mole). But  treating a senior member of the party with such contempt and seeking to humilate him is bewildering.  That's not leadership.

* MM submitted a petition to the Committee chairman , followed by a Press conference where he expressed consternation over his disqualification midway to election and sought redress. He has petitioned the NWC too through the National Chairman.  He awaits official responses.

* The key issues now are: Why was MM disqualified? Why wait until the election was in progress?   Who authorised the radio announcement? How will he now get justice?

* Will MM  and his team leave APC ? Not a chance in this world. But the wisdom of the Kwara APC  leadership and the sense of justice of the NWC will determine how the matter is resolved.

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara APC Candidate. The Face of Silent Revolution in Kwara State.

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara APC Candidate. The Face of Silent Revolution in Kwara State.

His story, on the surface, may read like a fable. But if you take the pains to read it with undivided attention, you will find out that it is most compelling and engaging.

For Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the CEO, First Fuels Limited, and son of Alhaji AGF Abdulrazaq, the first Northern lawyer in Nigeria, born in Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State, the journey to fame actually started when he ventured into importation of petroleum products at a relatively young age.

He was in the news, sometimes ago, when his company had several million litres of petroleum products stored in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s tanks in  Ejigbo depot as well as Mosimi depot in Ogun State, serving the needs of independent marketers in the South-west. Again, eyes turned on him when Mobil Oil wanted to export its first batch of condensate out of Nigeria.

Abdulrazaq came to the rescue as he succeeded in getting the best international prices and buyers for the product.

It will also be recalled that with the active support of Ronke Onadeko-Osayande, they executed a lot of oil-related transactions that launched the firm into the big league and fetched them billions of naira as reward for their sweat.

For obvious reasons, many had thought that he would have owned a private depot or refinery in Nigeria. But for Abdulrazaq,  who is said to have made positive impacts on the lives of many younger businessmen like Tonye Cole, Ade Shonubi, Ade Odunsi, Adewale Tinubu, Omamofe Boye and Onajite Okoloko, that was not the case, as First Fuels was hit by a few bad investments.

At the height of this challenge, his former partner, Ronke Onadeko, left the company to become the Country Director of Bank Paribas (BNP) offices in Lagos.

Subsequently, Abdulrazaq dumped the oil business for politics, and even floated
football club known as FC Abuja, which recorded some modest success in the sports world.  Since then, he has lost touch with the business that gave him fame for politics.

He contested the Kwara Central Senatorial District under Peoples’ Democratic Party in 2015 with the self resolve of salvaging his constituents from the ills of unproductive representation at the Red Chambers but lost the big gallantly.

He has seen the Greater Dream of contesting for the office of Governor in Kwara State, bringing to bear his National and International experience towards remodelling Kwara to a Mega State

He is married with Children.
