Unemployment at its peak as 3 PhD, 30 Masters degree holders amongst 4604 applicants for Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Programmer (ADEP 2021 Mega Stars Edition)

 




PhD, 30 Masters degree holders apply for Rep Olawuyi's digital empowerment programme



No fewer than three PhD, 30 Masters degree holders were among the 4,604 applicants that applied for the 2nd edition of Rep Tunji Olawuyi's digital empowerment programme tagged Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Programme (ADEP) 2021. 



This was contained in a statement issued by Mr Titilope Akogun, the Head of the Technical team for the programme. 



The programme which is the brainchild of the lawmaker representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara began in 2020.



The statement stated that no fewer than 200 people were empowered by the federal lawmaker in Digital Training, Mini Importation as well as distribution of laptops and tablets to beneficiaries in 2020.



He said that the breakdown in the application, revealed that there were 902 Bachelor of Science (BSc), 988 Higher National Diploma (HND), 853 National Certificate of Education (NCE) holders.



Others are: 441 Ordinary National Diploma (OND), 873 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) holders while 514 were unspecified. 



Of the 4,604 applicants, 556 are currently employed, 1218 are self-employed while 2830 are unemployed. 



750 of the applicants are from Ekiti local government area of Kwara, 1512 are from Irepodun local government,  634 of them are in Isin, 698 put in from Oke-Ero. 



However, 324 applied from Offa local government, 459 are from Ifelodun, while the remaining 327 applicants are from Oyun local government area of the state.



The statement stated that each applicant would be called for a phone interview session after which 500 successful applicants would be shortlisted.



He said the 500 applicants to be shortlisted would be invited for physical interview where the number would be pruned to 350 as the final successful candidates for the programme.

Rep Olawuyi Unveils 2nd edition of digital empowerment program, extends to 7 LGAs




Rep Olawuyi announces 2nd edition of digital empowerment programme (ADEP 2021)


Rep Tunji Olawuyi, member representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara, has concluded arrangements to stage the 2nd edition of his digital empowerment programme, tagged "Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Program (ADEP 2021)" 


The Lawmaker announced this in a statement on Monday in Omu-Aran, headquarters of Irepodun local government area of Kwara. 


Tagged, the Mega Star Edition, the 2021 edition will have 350 people trained from across the seven local government areas in Kwara South Senatorial District where 50 of them would be picked and given a start-up capital of N100,000 each. 


"We are glad to announce the unveiling of Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Program ADEP 2021. 


"The ADEP series commenced in the year 2020 as novel digital empowerment project conceptualized as a veritable tool for human capacity building for self development and ultimately self reliance through impactful digital skills acquisition by the teeming youth of kwara south.


"ADEP 2020 was a highly successful pilot edition as evident in the unimaginable level of interests, participations, commendations from every quarters and most importantly the positive transformation it has brought about in the life of the participants.


"At the end of the training, ADEP 2020 participants were given Laptops and Tablets, which ensured easy adoption, implementation and utilization of these skills for gainful entrepreneurship" the statement said. 


Olawuyi explained that ADEP 2021 edition promises to be better and bigger as the coverage of this edition is the entire seven (7) Local Governments in  Kwara South.


According to him, ADEP 2021 is set to train 350 youth from the Kwara South senatorial District, App Designing, Web Designing, Graphics Designing, Digital/SM Marketing, Business Branding, Mini Importation and Customer Relations and Management (CRM). 


The statement explained that there will be 3 weeks of intensive training and 1 week practical physical class. The training will emphasize effective skill acquisition.


The Lawmaker posited that has it is in the first edition, all successful participants will be given Free laptops and Tablets. 


Olawuyi said they will also be issued certificate of participation and they will be eligible for free CAC registration, consequent upon impressive after-training progress report.


The statement said there will be evaluation of competency at the end of the program and the best performing 50 participants shall emerge as the 50 Mega Stars of ADEP 2021.


"ADEP team will ensure sustained after-training engagements and mentorship of the participants to encourage productive utilization of acquired skills in their journey to entrepreneurship and self reliance.


"ADEP 2021 is poised to be the greatest convergence of opportunities in our recent history in kwara south" Olawuyi said.
