Enough of Suffering and Smiling in Kwara South! By Amofin Titilope Akogun

Enough of Suffering and Smiling in Kwara South!

By Amofin Titilope Akogun

For too long, the people of Kwara South have wept silently, yearning for a voice that truly speaks for us, for leaders who carry our burdens to the corridors of power. We have kept apportioning blames on other regions as the architect of our woes. We have kept ours in the dungeons, while other regions continue to lead the ace in Kwara State.

Since 1999, when Nigeria returned to democracy, our senatorial district, comprising Ekiti, Oke Ero, Offa, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Isin, and Oyun has been blessed with only a handful of representatives in the National Assembly. Yet, the story of our representation is a tale of two worlds: the hope and progress delivered under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that was revolted against with the O to ge mantra and the stagnation that has gripped us under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

We Christened the PDP years as misrule and brought in the Otoge regime. But what has changed? Have we not even gone worse in terms of impacts from our representatives in Kwara South, without anyone agreeing to be held liable?

Representation for almost 10 years under the current reign seem to have gone on vacation. Who is to be blamed?

Perhaps I should ask, what do the lawmakers think our people want? We are not asking for crumbs and are not out to seek for pettiness.

Our people earnestly seek for landmark achievements that boost the economy of Kwara South. Federal Government institutions. Maybe I break it further, Tertiary institutions, Federal Parastatals and Job Hubs that empowers our people. We want leverages to grow in other to grow!

Ajasse IPO is thriving in Livestock development, how have we used that to our advantage to develop the community?

Omu aran has one of the best power supply in the state, how have we exploited this leverage.

Osi has a centre of KWASU, with a blossoming population that requires a centric Health centre and notoriously known for mass agricultural production that should attract factories.

Isin is very notorious for cashew production and the CBN anchor borrowers scheme is there to explore. We only need working Reps and a passionate Kwara South Senator, who sees Kwara South as his or her own State.

There is the dire need for a military formation to aid security and curb kidnappings from Omupo to Eruku. Who is willing to champion this audacious need of our dear Federal Constituency?

These are some of the ideas we should be exploring. IVTECH is in Ajasse Ipo with international training standards, what will it cost our Representatives at the National Assembly to continuously train students in such institution, while empowering them with substantial capital to start their businesses?

*lWe have cried enough! It’s time to demand what we deserve!

Since 2019, Distinguished Sen. Lola Ashiru has occupied the Senate seat for Kwara South under the APC banner, including Our 2 Rep members with an APC led National Assembly and an APC Presidency. What are the tangible gains? What are our excuses?

I dare anyone to state one or two Federal Government landmark policies that signals a landmark federal establishment attraction to our region for almost a decade, while unemployment festers among our youth.

How long will our youth begin to get meaningful empowerment that will produce Millionaires that will give them the kind of leverage our Distinguished Representatives got, to have been able to get to the peak at the Red and Green Chamber?

How many times have you heard or seen our Representatives in Kwara South contribute on the floor of both the Green and Red Chambers?

We read the order paper of both houses daily and one would be forced to ask, where are our own Reps and Senator?!

I think we need to ring a bell of reminder to them, the responsibilities of lawmakers at the National Assembly. They need to start lobbying their colleagues with productive motions and bills that transcend to the infrastructural development of our region.

Our tears have watered the ground long enough, Kwara South must rise like a thundering Lion.. towards proferring a representation that build bridges, not walls; leaders who see our pain and act.

My name is Amofin Joseph Titilope Akogun

I am the President, BTA Foundation and a Proud Kwara Southerner from the beautiful city of Omu Aran.

AMOFIN AKOGUN, ABUJA IS CALLING!!!

One of the wisest and most impactful decisions the people of Kwara South, particularly in Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin, and Oke Ero LGAs will ever make is to unanimously support Amofin Titilope Akogun as their next representative in the Federal House of Representatives.

This is not just a political choice; it is destiny meeting preparation. Amofin Akogun is a natural leader, a round peg in a round hole, poised to drive transformative development and inclusive progress throughout the constituency.

From his days as a student, his passion and energy for development has never dimmed. At the University of Ilorin, he served with distinction. As a member of the Judiciary arm of the Faculty of Law, also as the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the Students Union and the Pioneer Chairman of Tanke Community Students Association (TACOSA). His achievements are still being talked about, like facilitating the installation of five transformers for the Tanke community in 2013 through the Kwara State Government, while still a student Leader.

He didn’t use the office to lobby the right persons for peanuts, but projects that positively affect the lives of his people.

Even more impressively, he led his team in facilitating the grading and compact filling of Tanke Oke Odo Road through the ABS Constituency Office, a project supervised by Engr Yinka Otukoko and Alh Onila, that touched the lives of thousands. As a Student Union PRO, turned around the information dissemination strategies on campus, staged the First Leadership Summit that has become an annual event today, adopted innovations in serving his people and his creativity and drive earned him the “Most Innovative Executive” award in 2013.

This is a man who doesn’t wait for a title to make an impact. He works. He delivers. He inspires.

His victory in 2027 will not just be an election win, it will be the dawn of a new era. Kwara South will witness infrastructural revival and bold legislative leadership that prioritizes people over politics.

Amofin Akogun, your people are ready. We believe in your vision, your energy, and your unwavering passion for progress. The time is now. Abuja is calling and we will mobilize massively to answer that call.

Let the journey begin!

Amofin Akogun Commends Igbomina Youth Assembly, Kwara South Youth Congress, and Stakeholders for Standing Against Insecurity

Amofin Akogun Commends Igbomina Youth Assembly, Kwara South Youth Congress, and Stakeholders for Standing Against Insecurity

Kwara South is awakening — and it’s heartening to witness. Just yesterday, following my press statement (copied to His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor), the Igbomina Youth Assembly, Kwara South Youth Congress, Abdulganiyu Abdulgafar, and other worthy ambassadors of Kwara South also raised their voices against the growing insecurity in our region.

I must commend these noble organizations and individuals for sounding the alarm and calling for urgent intervention in our once very safe region.

We are deeply grateful that the kidnapped victims have regained their freedom.

However, let it be made clear: we are speaking out not because the victims are known to us, and certainly not for political gain — but out of genuine love for Kwara South and its people.

We must not wait until the wave of kidnappings reaches our own doorsteps.

Regrettably, some officials and members of the ruling party have attempted to downplay the crisis, perhaps because they benefit from the current administration. But insecurity, like inflation and the ripple effects of bad policies, knows no party lines. Both PDP and APC members buy food at the same markets — and kidnappers do not ask for your party card before striking.

We must be patriotic Kwara Southerners first, before identifying as politicians. This is our only home.

We urge the Kwara State Government not to rest on its oars because of this temporary success. What we need now are proactive, preventive strategies — not just reactive responses. Since 2024, our traditional rulers have consistently raised alarm over the rising insecurity in the region. Their concerns must not be ignored.

We will continue to speak out, give credit where it’s due, and hold leadership accountable to ensure Kwara South never becomes a haven for insecurity.

Thank you.

Amofin Akogun Decries Kid-Glove Approach to Insecurity, Calls for Genuine Consultation and Urgent Action in Kwara South

Amofin Akogun Decries Kid-Glove Approach to Insecurity, Calls for Genuine Consultation and Urgent Action in Kwara South

Amofin Akogun has expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity in Kwara South, particularly the incessant kidnappings across Isin, Omu-Aran, Oke-Ero, and Osi axis. He strongly criticized the Kwara State Government for treating the grave issues affecting the region with kid gloves, warning that the current half-hearted approach is endangering lives, crippling livelihoods, and breeding widespread fear among the people.

Speaking passionately, Akogun noted that despite persistent public lamentations from our first-class traditional rulers on the deteriorating security situation, very little meaningful action has been taken. He stressed that kidnappings and banditry have escalated to the point where many farmers — the backbone of the local economy — can no longer access their farms, leading to economic hardship and food insecurity in the region and travellers travel under unprecedented fear.

Amofin Akogun further advised that if the state government is serious about resolving the crisis, the Governor must move beyond cosmetic interventions and engage in sincere consultations with stakeholders who are truly familiar with the realities on ground. He emphasized that only by listening to voices of experience — traditional rulers, local leaders, security experts, and grassroots communities — can sustainable solutions be achieved.

"Our people are living in fear, our farmers are abandoning their lands, and our communities are being emptied of hope. Yet, those entrusted with leadership treat our cries like whispers. This cannot continue," Akogun said.

“The Governor must seek real counsel — not from those who paint a false picture of calm, but from those who live with the consequences of these daily threats."

He reaffirmed his commitment to continuously champion the cause of the people of Kwara South and called for immediate, holistic, and collective action to secure the region before the situation deteriorates further.

Amofin Akogun Congratulates Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and the Ajase-Ipo Community on the Foundation Laying of the High Court Registry

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Barr. Ismail Yahya Mohammed Atoloye Alebiosu, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, and the entire Ajase-Ipo community on the historic foundation laying of the Kwara State High Court Registry and Oath Office in the Ajase-Ipo Division.

The generous sponsorship by His Royal Majesty and the remarkable contributions from the Ajase-Ipo Descendants Union (ADU) toward the renovation of the Area Court underscore a shared vision for justice, progress, and community development.

AMOFIN TITILOPE AKOGUN, ALWAYS THERE, AND HERE FOR US!

They’ve come again.

As always, they’ll vanish after the elections—reappearing only when it’s time to beg for our votes again.

They never stand with us when it matters. They forget us in the trenches, then knock on our doors when the battle is over.

Some followers, blinded by quick gains, welcome them back—forgetting how we were abandoned.

But Bamofin Titilope Akogun is different. He’s been with us through thick and thin.

MLK Jr. once said:

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

“This is the energy we need! Akogun has been in the trenches with us—not just showing face when it’s sweet. 2027 is ours to win! Let’s show the career politicians that integrity still matters. We dey your back, 100%

*“A true leader earns trust not by speeches, but by presence.

Bamofin Titilope Akogun has consistently proven his commitment to the people

In this Federal Constituency of Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin and Oke-Ero, We have a true Champion this time around.

We don’t need to look elsewhere anymore.

Come 2027, AmofinAkogun is our man for the Green Chamber from this end.

It’s time for a true champion!

DOES AMOFIN AKOGUN DESERVE OUR SUPPORT FOR REP IN 2027? - Part 1

2027 is not just another election—it’s our defining moment.

A moment to elevate a man who has made the needs of our people his life’s mission. A Lawyer by profession, a servant by heart, and a philanthropist whose works have reached every corner of our federal constituency.

Let it be clear: Akogun is a clear difference from the conventional politicians. He is not a product of recycled politics. He has never held a political or government position. Yet, he has done more for the people with his personal resources than many with access to public funds.

He has kept empowering the youth, supporting the elderly, showing us what to expect from his representation and touching lives across all four local governments in our constituency. He did not wait to be elected to serve—he is igniting hope because he cares.

Today, some insist it’s time for the other zones to produce the next representative. They argue equity. But we ask: what is more equitable than a man who has given to all, regardless of zone or tribe? A man who understands the expectations of his people and has started responding positively.

He only needs our support to do more on a larger scale.

Let us not be swayed by the failures of past officeholders who share his origin. Let us judge Bamofin Titilope Akogun by his actions, not assumptions. His LGA may cast the highest votes—but his impact is even more felt. He is not asking for power—he is asking for a platform to do more. And if he could do so much without the office, imagine what he could do with it.

Let us entrust our future to God, through a man of Big Ideas, compassion, and vision. In 2027, let’s send someone who has already been fighting for us—to now fight with us. Let’s give Bamofin Titilope Akogun a chance and support to represent us—officially.

My name is Chief Atofalaki Joshua from Idofin, Oke Ero LGA.

Amofin Akogun: Mr Talk and Do, Your Interventions for a Developed Kwara South Speaks Volumes

Whenever any financial or material social Intervention is rolled out in the stable of Barrister Titilope Akogun (BTA) Foundation, the enthusiasm, acceptability, admiration and frenzy it creates among the youths, women, even the elderly, especially within Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency is always high and unprecedented.

This is simply attributed to the absolute believe among the constituents that such Intervention coming from BTA will not only be well thought-out in terms of drafting, planning and transparency, but also well executed to benefit the targeted beneficiaries with favourable feedbacks.

This was the case when the foundation recently launched the - "Online Banking Initiative 2025" - its latest addition to the  numerous and uncountable social interventions aimed at bettering the welfare and well-being of the people of the district.

The intervention as outlined by the foundation seeks to empower small businesses with 50 POS machines, ₦25,000 startup support, Financial discipline, POS training.

You can imagine the great impact this laudable gesture would have on the lives of the beneficiaries, just like previous projects and empowerments, considering the hardship prevalence across the country.

No wonder by the first two weeks of the launch of the intervention registration, the portal was overwhelmed by applicants getting their required documents registered to benefit from scheme.

Low and behold, Amofin Akogun as fondly called by his admirers, both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora, is not holding any subvention related political position or appointment to draw free money for these laudable Interventions that have changed lives, shaped destinies and developed societies.

The most significant being that he hardly settles down after executing one intervention that benefits and impacts people across various communities in the district before coming up with another one.

Amofin Akogun has consistently demonstrated his commitment to community development through practical programs designed to address real challenges.

He has engaged in programs which seek to address the monstrous challenges confronting us as a people in our Federal Constituency. Though not on a large scale, but telling us lots are possible if given a political leverage to massively facilitate Government intervention projects.

He is not a man that would get to office and not know what to do in office.

Amofin Akogun, a respected legal practitioner of international standard, an astute grassroots political mobiliser and philanthropist, once said in an interview that, he finds happiness in exposing people to various opportunities for them to be self motivated, sufficient and reliant.

A popular Yoruba adage says "Irun Imun lowo ko se fa tu" meaning "Money is like human moustache that can not be uprooted". For someone to prioritise social interventions that empowers and trains people alongside financial backing as start-up capital, using his hard earned resources, such person deserves a payback thank you support and acceptance.

Amofin Akogun has been on this cause for a while without looking back and still counting. Today's actions they say signifies what tomorrow will look like.

No doubt, Kwara South, with its rich heritage and resilient people, has long deserved a champion who not only understands its challenges, but also possesses the determination to address them head-on.

Amofin Akogun is that potential candidate; that reflect a deep-seated commitment to empowering the people, sustainable growth, and restoring dignity to communities that have too often been overlooked. From education to agriculture, youth development to social welfare, his initiatives have left a great deal of impact across the length and breadth of the district.

Amofin Akogun had been a remarkable visioner not only by his administrative capabilities, impeccable character, prudency in financial management, but with exemplary leadership quality to manage people and resources efficiently and effectively.

According to Mufasa /The Lion King, a great Philosopher of high repute, "Leadership isn't about having all the answers; it's about being confident, decisive and having the courage to go forth and do something impactful". Without mincing words, Amofin Akogun possesses the required leadership and administrative qualities to be a good representative, if given the honour, support and acceptance to lead the good people of Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin and Oke Ero Federal Constituency from 2027.
